In 2017, there were over 2,000 Military Family attendees, and this year TSV & NFO expect to Host over 3,000 Military Families — making the event the largest gathering of Military Families having fun together at a ski resort!

Not Forgotten Outreach, Inc. (NFO), a local Taos, New Mexico non-profit, brings Military Families from all over the US together at Taos Ski Valley for an experience filled with fun activities on & off the Ski Mountains.

Military Families hit the slopes with loved ones and Military friends at a Ski Resort started by WWII Veteran, Ernie Blake. The Blake family approved the start of the event, when Jonah Salloway, former event director at TSV came up with the idea in November 2013.

Since new owner Louis Bacon purchased TSV, the annual event has only grown in the number of participants and, most importantly, in support from TSV employees, by taking ownership of the event for Military Families.

To improve Mindfulness and relationships, NFO is proud to be partnering with the Department of Veteran Affairs Care Management & Social work Services; to offer intimacy training by Nicole Jasmine Johnson, MSW, MA, LCSW. This intimacy training will provide desperately needed guidance to Military Couples, in how to adjust their personal relationship aspirations when dealing with a wounded warrior, either physical or cognitive injuries, enabling them to learn a “new norm” of intimacy in their changed relationships.

Connected Warriors Yoga will provide evidence based Trauma-Conscious yoga therapy programs for Service members, Veterans and their Families every morning of the event at 9am.

Defendu Academy of Taos, will provide a self-defense class on Wednesday at 10am, taught by former Special Forces Soldier, Ryan Daley.

The VA Mobile Vet Center will be available Friday 10am – 2pm, to answer both active duty and veteran’s questions on benefits entitlements.

On Friday, Melanie A. Suazo, SGM (Ret), Director of the New Mexico Women Veterans Program of the NM Department of Veterans’ Services, will be on hand at the event to reach out to women veterans in NM.

On Thursday & Saturday night NFO will host a FREE “Appreciation Dinner” for 200 Military Families each night.

Lodging discounts to Military Families are graciously being offered by different hotels in the Taos area. Including: Edelweiss Lodge and Spa discount of 20% off for stays of 3 nights or more.
