We are excited to announce the beginning of NFO Adaptive Sports Program, dedicated to providing individuals of all abilities the opportunity to build fitness, independence, and confidence through sports, nature, and educational programs. Stay tuned for more information on volunteer training and special events.
We received the grant from USA Hockey for Five Sleds to get a jump start on our new sled hockey program. We will work on purchasing the sticks and some goalie equipment since they are pretty specialized. However, we will need donations of helmets, elbow pads, and gloves to get the program going. If you can donate any equipment or gifts toward purchasing equipment, that would be greatly appreciated.
USA Hockey will be in Taos December 20th to hold a sled hockey clinic for us. Anyone who is interested in participating in this program in any aspect is encouraged to attend. We will be looking for players, volunteer coaches and volunteer referees for the upcoming season. The clinic will take place on and off the ice to encompass all areas of the sport.
We should have plenty of sleds for the event so even if you are just a little bit curious, please come on by and check out what all the excitement is about…
